The Crane Legacy: Chapter 4.11- Happy Occasions

Welcome back dear readers, I know it’s been a while, but I was… busy. *cough*

Last we left off, The Crane siblings were getting and giving lessons in decency- Dorian and Donovan, the eldest Generation Four Biological Children graduated, and proposed to their respective loves- both Professors. Doris, having embarked on a quest to be taken seriously despite her self absorbed exterior, and when asking for advice, ended up kissing her own Professor, Phobos. Donato continued his quest of seducing all the women in Kodak, and Dorothy moved in to AOV, obviously displeased with her brother’s dirty ways.

We now shift to The Chatham, the house where the Cranes have been living. ( They moved in Changing Faces, Changing Places, Part Two.)



Dorian and Donovan both felt they had to get married at their home, to make it easier for their mother and father to see them, and they promptly moved in.

“I see you finally cut your hair.” Donovan enjoyed teasing his broth0 they had both had long hair for the majority of their lives, and immediately after arriving home, Dorian had cut his.

“Yeah, I got tired of it.”



Charity was ecstatic to have them home. She knew that she and Othello didn’t have much time left, and she was frantically planning the double wedding- Dorian and Donovan were, of course, getting married on the same day.

“We’ll set up the arch in front of the mausoleum, with the chairs in front, and we’ll leave the cake here in the kitchen…”

“Honey, don’t you think you’re a little too excited?” Othello also knew that he and Charity probably wouldn’t live to see Douglas graduate the following year, and she was trying to make up for it by making the wedding grand and splendid- but she couldn’t overwork herself.



“I don’t see why Mom can’t plan the wedding. You know she thrives of happy occasions like these.” Donovan was, of course, ridiculously outgoing, but he was also intelligent, and he wanted to make his mother as happy as possible during her last days alive.

“Thank you dear. Now, Othello, we need to clean your old tux…”



The long awaited day arrived, and Dorian and Donovan were soon greeting their brides outside.

“Wow, you outdid yourself, didn’t you Dorian? This is great, I can’t wait to get married with a set up like this!” Perdita winked at Dorian as she made her way inside the house.

“It’s beautiful, Donovan. I can’t wait to become your wife.”



Inside, the women had gotten changed into their new outfits, and couldn’t wait for the wedding to begin. Even with their astounding differences, they got along well. Perdita was loud, outgoing, and generally a fun person to hang out with, while Chandra preferred to stay in the background, and perform quieter activities like read, and study. Oddly, they were both Knowledge Sims, and seemed to be made for the wrong twin- but they each loved their respective man, and that was the end of it.





Soon enough, the guests started arriving- The Mays had come despite their horribly busy schedules, Dorothy, Dorrigan, and Doris had made it as well.

“Time for the first wedding everyone! Get ready!”



“Perdita… I love you. I think that about sums it up.”



“Good, because I don’t think I could’ve stood it if you rambled about how you want me forever and ever.”

The guests laughed at Perdita’s response.



With a kiss, they were man and wife.



Charity and Othello sat in their sits. It was all Charity could do not to fidget, or whip out her handheld. “Can you believe we already have three kids married? It’s crazy.”



Behind them, Cornelius gazed fondly at his wife as she blocked Prof. Cybele’s view. Maybe it was for the best, Dorian had dumped her unceremoniously when she was a werewolf.



Dorian and Perdita gazed at one another after they were married, grinning like maniacs.

“We did it, Perdie! We’re married!”

“First, don’t call me Perdie, and second, I know! Isn’t it wild? I can think of a few things we can do to celebrate…”

Dorian just laughed and sat down to watch the next wedding.



Donovan and Chandra stood under the arch, gazing at anything besides each other.



“Chandra, I promised you I wouldn’t leave you when I was in college- and I’m glad I made that promise. I love you more than the world itself, and I can’t lose you. I love you.”



“Donovan- you made my life whole by coming into it, and I can never thank you enough for it. I love you as well- I’m glad you chose me to be your wife.”



With a kiss, Donovan and Chandra became man and wife as well.



Charity smiled lightly. She had become extremely happy at seeing her two eldest sons married, and had gotten most of her family together for one last time…

Where was her family?



Downstairs, Athena, Dorothy, Dorrigan, and Doris stood blankly, watching as Cressida told them a story of some sort.



By nightfall, the guests had dispersed, and the party was a success. Dorian, Perdita, Donovan and Chandra all rushed to the car to go on their joint honeymoon at a hotel downtown.



By the time they returned, they were all feeling wondrously excited. They had gotten married, and now, it was time to fulfill dreams and other, more exciting things…



Like studying! :D



It wasn’t long before Dorian became a Game Designer- he had wanted to do something a bit more exciting, but he was happy with his life. He and Perdita had decided to stay at the house until she maximized her skills, then they would move into their own house (the four of them, Dorian and Donovan agreed they would never live apart).





Speaking of maximizing his skills, Prof. Orestes Muddlefoot had accomplished his own dream. “Oh yay! I did it, I finished!” Orestes was far too shy to actually *tell* anyone about his little victory, and within moments he was moving out.



“I am so glad I did this… Athena really is a good person.”

Upstairs, Othello and Charity were on a date- their last, they were both sure.



“You know, I could dance with you forever Charity.”

Charity laughed, the sound bouncing off the walls. “Don’t tempt me- you know, today’s the day. Did you call them?”

“Yes. I gave Doris some Fatherly advice, warned Donato about his silly little ways, advised Dorrigan…”



“Did you speak to Dorothy?”

“Yes. I told her I loved her and that she would be a good heiress. Did you?”

"Yes. I told her I was proud of her."

“Let’s go downstairs.”

Once there, Charity was overcome with emotion.



“Oh Othello, I love you so much…”



They both felt an odd chill descend upon the house, and stared blankly ahead as The Grim Reaper appeared in front of Othello.



“Oh, is it time already? Alright then, let’s go.”

“YOU ARE A BRAVE MAN, OTHELLO CRANE. EVEN IF YOUR MEETING WAS PLANNED, I SEE THE TWO OF YOU TRULY LOVED ONE ANOTHER.”



Othello happily grabbed his drink and faded into the distance.



Once Dorian and Cressida arrived in the Living Room, Charity turned around to face The Reaper.

“At least we went on the same day, eh Grim?”

“YES. IT WAS MEANT TO BE THIS WAY.”



“Can I play my handheld and see my husband?”

“FOREVER, CHARITY CRANE.”

“Sweet.”

And with those last words, Charity also faded away, leaving a beautiful Platinum Headstone, ten devastated children, and a very sad creator.

I really am going to miss both of them dearly. Thy were my favorite couple ever. :(

I was very excited when I threw the Double Wedding- I was worried that they wouldn't all get into the limo, but I shouldn't have. Although, it did leave me with this gem:


"I know they say you become one when you get married, but you guys are ridiculous with it."

Also, with the last few Sims that are moving in to Max skills, I think I'll do it off camera from now on. It's too much work to explain they are only there to max their skills and leave.

GRR AT THE SIBLINGS FOR NOT WATCHING THE WEDDING. They were all just standing there, I wanted to kill them for being so fresh. >:( I made sure it didn't happen during Dorothy's wedding, but ARGH, WATCH THE WEDDING PLZ.
