The Crane Legacy: Chapter 4.10- Codes of Conduct

Welcome back dear readers! It’s been a week right? I think I’m going to start updating more often, so we’ll see if I can do two updates a week. Wish me luck!

Last we left off, Arthur moved Downtown and got married to his fiancée, Giorgio. At SSU, Arnaud graduated, and Douglas moved in his siblings, Doris and Donato. Doris felt no one took her seriously, so she chopped off all her hair, while Donato’s ego expanded to the size of Alaska when a random girl complimented him, so he quickly seduced two girls in the span of 24 Hours. Back in Downtown, Arnaud moved in with his brother and his husband, who vowed the arrangement was not permanent. Will we ever catch up with them? No, because they chose to live Downtown forever while everyone else ages.

We now go to SSU , where The Crane Siblings will be giving us lessons in decency…



“Uh…Donato… Could you… go upstairs, or something?”

Donovan was hardly a shy Sim, but this was bordering on the edge of pornography- Donato had turned the house into a brothel, parading women in and out at all hours- it seemed like Donato hardly ate, slept or did anything other than seduce women.



Or chat them up. Donato and Doris could usually be found on their phones, talking about themselves for hours nonstop to their various conquests- Donato’s whores would believe anything he said, and the many men that Doris talked to only allowed her to talk because they thought they were getting “something” out of it.

They were wrong, of course. The twins just really, really, liked talking about themselves.



Thankfully, Dorian and Donovan were no longer going to have to listen to their rambling. They had both graduated with 4.0’s, and this usually meant a party.

Usually.



“Mom. Mom. MOM.”

“Hold on a sec, I’m about to beat my High Score…”

Dorian was used to his mother and her handheld, she had even neglected to eat at her daughter’s wedding so she could beat her high score.



Charity managed to put her handheld away. “Oh honey, I’m so proud of you. I always have been. I wanted you to be heir, but…”

“Don’t worry about it mom. I’m glad I’m not heir- I don’t think I could handle Dorothy’s resentment for the rest of my life.”

At this, they both laughed.



Even though he hadn’t thrown a party, Dorian did invite his girlfriend, Prof. Perdita.

“Dorian! Not in front of your mother!” She giggled some more- Perdita wasn’t shy at all (10 Outgoing points, 10!!!!) but she did have common decency.

“Let’s go inside, there’s something I want to ask you.”

“Ooh, I wonder what…”



Inside, Dorian hugged Perdita.

“You know I love you right?”

“Of course, Dorian. I love you too.” Perdita couldn’t help but wonder where this was going. Dorian knew she would be fired as soon as he left the campus, but she never thought he was the type for a fling…



“I love you Perdita. Marry me?”



“OH! WOW! OH yes ,Yes I’ll marry you Dorian Crane!”



Perdita jumped into his arms. She couldn’t believe she had been THIS close to being a Legacy Wife, but she didn’t mind- as long as she was with Dorian, nothing else mattered.



Dorian quickly grew up, into a hideously bright red shirt not unlike the one he had JUST been wearing.

“Time to go!”



Doris was oblivious to her brothers graduations. She was far more concerned with what her professor, Phobos would think when he saw her. They had been talking for weeks, and she had invited him over so they could talk in person. She was very serious about the fact that no one took her seriously, and would have to pick his brain about it.

When he did get there, Doris was not happy to hear his conclusion on what her problem was.



“You know what you’re problem is? You only hear what you want to, Doris. And then, you stomp all over everything else you say by talking nonstop about yourself. You need to listen more, Doris.”

“Well… alright, thanks for coming.”



She pulled him into a hug, an expression of friendliness that was second nature to her.

“Thanks Phobos.”



However, they were both surprised when the hug lingered more than it was supposed to.

“Doris…?”





Doris just looked up at him, and within moments, they had kissed.

“I don’t think that’s very professional. You know what happens to Professors who--”



Phobos was caught off guard by the kiss, and soon they were kissing passionately.



Meanwhile, Donato had taken his brother’s advice and taken Phoebe upstairs for some “private time.”



Donovan, on the other hand was far from SSU- he had taken Chandra out on the town for a “Special Night”, and was now taking her to dinner.

“You look amazing tonight, Chandra.”

“I try. I did my hair and everything to look nice for you.”


Chandra was usually quiet, and preferred to stay behind the scenes for most everything, but she loved receiving compliments.



They held one another close.

“I love you, Chandra. I love you more than anything in the world, I.. can’t imagine spending my life without you by my side.”

Chandra gulped. She knew he knew she was going to be fired as soon as he left the campus, and she had heard about Perdita and Dorian getting engaged, but she didn’t want to get her hopes up. Instead, she smiled.



Once inside the restaurant, Donovan smiled hesitantly at Chandra. He had felt so sure, and,… no, he had to do it- he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, no matter what.



“Chandra?”

He placed the velvet box on the table.

“Oh my goodness! You really want to, Donovan?”





Chandra picked up the ring and held it in her hand, examining it. All of her hopes and dreams… All her plans, and wishes now were up to her saying one word.



“YES! I’ll marry you, Donovan Crane!”

Donovan held her hand and smiled. His life- no matter what he did, would now be happy.



They spent the rest of the night (and some of the morning) celebrating.



But, all good things must come to an end, and Donovan soon found himself transitioning in the living room.

“Good riddance!”



Upstairs, Doris had gotten anew look to celebrate her transformation from Freshman to Sophomore.



The first thing she did with her new look was to move in her younger sister, Dorothy.

“Uh, you’ve been a pledge, for like, a week, welcome to AOV!”

“Thanks Doris.”

Dorothy didn’t like very many people, but Doris was one of the few people she did like- she was the only sibling she was close to, besides her twin brother Dorrigan.



Doris and Dorothy tended to do a lot of things together.

“Where’s Douglas?”

“He’s… uh, painting, I think.”

Dorothy knew it was one of her sister’s faults to not pay much attention to other people, so she didn’t mind it.





One thing she DID mind, however was Donato-he was prancing around town seducing women now, as well as having bedded most of SSU.



“How can you stand it?” They were eating, and she was curious to know how her sister dealt with her twin’s fresh behavior.

“I don’t care what he does, Dorothy. He’s my brother, and no matter what, we’ve got to deal with it.”



“I heard he’s even begun moving in on Arnaud’s old lovers. I don’t approve.”

“I didn’t know you dealt in gossip, Dorothy Crane.”

Dorothy sighed.

“I know… It’s just, inappropriate, I guess.”

“Well… you can’t hold everyone to the same Code of Conduct, Dorothy. At least he isn’t moving in on Married Sims.”

“Yet…”

Donato really is fresh- all his wants involve wanting to flirt with Sims he just met. Good for me. The one thing I DON'T do with him is dates- dates have that magic vibe that even when you aren't doing anything romantic, the other Sim senses it- with all the walkby's being his lovers, woohooing and dates are very, very hard to do- no dates, but frequent woohoo.



However, while playing another lot, Amanda Moore got Donato as a Blind Date- all's fair, it was random (3 BOLTS) so, I let them do their thing. (Or I directed them to do their thing, potato, potatoe)





Their 3 Bolts- let me show them to you. They went from Strangers to being in love in like 6 Sim Hours- Thank you Summer and 3 Bolts! ^__^



Also, portraits got painted. I decided to change Doris' look every year, because I felt like it. She looks nice in almost any Rose Hair. But I painted her portrait in that one.



Donato really did work his way through the SSU Dormies. See, since I did a deleteallcharacters (before I knew that was a surefire way to make your new neighborhood into BFBVFS) all those months ago in January of 2007, I only have like 17 Female Dormies- Arnaud did it with most of them, but I didn't have many townies then either, so, Donato and Arnaud are sharing women. *shudder*
