The Crane Legacy: Chapter 4.3- Progression, Part Two

Welcome back, dear readers! Last we left off, The Crane family had grown immensely, Charity and Othello had almost achieved their dream of ten children, they were very close with eight: three adopted, Arthur, the deadly serious eldest child, Athena, the bossy and powerful girl, Arnaud, the player romance Sim, Dorian, the quiet and studious heir apparent, Donovan, the outgoing and fun Popularity Sim, Douglas, the serious middle child and only single baby ever born into the Crane family and Doris and Donato, toddlers. The family was not very close, with the eldest three being tight knit, Dorian and Donovan being close to one another (being twins) and the toddlers being toddlers.

Now, we pick up the story at Sim State University, where Dorian and Donovan had just arrived at The Knut House, the house where all Cranes go first before pledging AOV.

Photobucket

“This is gonna be really cool Dorian! I can’t wait to be Big Man on Campus!” Donovan had gotten a new hairstyle and some awesome new clothes, and was ecstatic to have the opportunity to make new friends.

Photobucket

Dorian, on the other hand was a lot more reserved. While as outgoing as his brother, he wanted to make sure he protected the family more than making new friends.

“Actually, I think I have something to do, bro.”

Donovan smiled. “I think I know what you mean.”

Photobucket

Dorian quickly snuck outside to the Matchmaker. He quickly handed her most of his scholarship money; it didn’t matter, the Greek House had plenty of money.

“Any specifications?”

The mysterious gypsy was used to his type, the quiet duty-driven guy.

Photobucket

The gypsy smiled at Dorian as she dropped off the woman, a Professor.

“What is this? Where am I?!”

The woman was obviously very confused.

Photobucket

Dorian and she quickly began talking.

“It’s okay, I didn’t know our meeting would be so violent.” Dorian chuckled.

“I’m Professor Cybele Brentwood.”

“Dorian Crane.”

Photobucket

Soon enough, it was time for Dorian and Donovan to pledge AOV. That is, if Arthur and Athena would stop playing with each other.

“HAHA! You missed!”

Athena’s competitive nature took over as she played with her older brother.

“I’m sure I’ll get you!”

Photobucket

The mailman, Legolas Huntington, walked by quickly. “Ah, college. Too bad I never got to go…” Putting down his repressed sadness, Legolas walked quickly by The Knut House, regretting many things in his short life.

Photobucket

“So, We’d like to formally welcome you to Anyya Oresha Var!”

Donovan smugly put his hands on his hips. “You can cut the act sis, we both knew I was too awesome NOT to get in.”

Photobucket

“So when will you guys be moving?”

“Soon. I think Dorian went crazy and found himself a ball and chain Freshman year.”

Athena laughed at her younger brother’s joke.

Photobucket

Later, the brothers stood in front of The Knut House awaiting the taxi that was going to take them to AOV.

“So…”

“What?”

“Nothing.”

Donovan smirked as he watched his brother squirm.

Photobucket

Back at the house of babies, Charity was found bowing in front of the porcelain god in the nursery. (Yes, the nursery has a toilet. It makes for easy emptying of the potty.)

“Wait, I’m about to become an elder in 6 days! I can’t be pregnant!”

Charity hoped against hope that she was. She and Othello were indeed getting older, but she desperately wanted Ten Children.

Photobucket

In the living room, Douglas was getting acquainted with a cousin of his. Or second cousin.

Daisy looked blankly forward before shrugging.

Photobucket

“So, did you know I know how to walk?”

Douglas, even in all his seriousness, couldn’t let go of a new friend, and immediately began talking with his cousin.

Daisy was of the branch of the family that still retained the eyes that Valeria had possessed. The daughter of Xavier Crane and the mailwoman, Daisy was a feisty little girl, personable and fun to be with.

Photobucket

Within moments, she got him to show her where the bubble blower was.

Photobucket

Later that day, Doris and Donato grew up. Doris was the spitting image of Othello, with lighter skin, but with a serious attitude problem.

Photobucket

“Mommy says I’m the most beautiful girl in the world!”

Donato stared blankly at her before uttering his on retort.

“Well, Daddy says that I’m the handsomest and the coolest!”

Seeing as how they were the babies of the family, Charity and Othello had decided to be extra attentive to these twins. Unfortunately, they also left them with over inflated egos and superiority complexes.

Photobucket

Cressida knew that it was studying time, so she quickly swooped upon Doris.

“Mistress Doris, it is time for us to practice cooking.”

“Nuh-uh! Can’t you get someone else! I’m too pretty to do any work! Mommy said so!”

Cressida stared after the little girl as she walked away. Thankfully Mistress Charity was pregnant again, and didn’t hear the outburst of the over entitled little girl.

“I think, as you humans say, You’ve Created a monster.”

Photobucket

That night, the foundress of the legacy herself emerged from her eternal slumber.

“Well, my granddaughter sure did get busy…”

With that, she proceeded to float around the house.

Photobucket

The next day, another cousin stopped by.

After getting married to Baal, Charissa had proceeded to have only two children- two girls, Dolly, named after Baal, and Darissa. Dolly was nice, friendly, and painfully shy, while Darissa was a firecracker, mean, terribly outgoing, and serious.

Photobucket

Thankfully it was Dolly who stopped by.

Photobucket

Just in time for the final special event…

“I already have eight children! I’ve given birth to five, WHY DOES THIS HURT SO MUCH?!”

Photobucket

Within moments, Charity delivered the final twins, a girl, Dorothy, and a boy, Dorrigan.

“It’s over sweetie, we have our ten children!”

Othello was over the moon. Charity, on the other hand, was just tired.

Photobucket

“We did it, my love, we have ten beautiful, well adjusted children. We…”

Charity silenced him with a kiss. She had her doubts about the “well adjusted”, but didn’t say anything to her husband.

“Let’s try not to make these two brats, okay?”

Othello couldn’t help but laugh.

Photobucket

Time flew by, as it usually does, and before long, there were teenagers in the house again.

Doris, ever the pretty girl, chose Family as her aspiration, and wanted to have many (spoiled) children like her parents. Donato chose Romance, he wanted to spread as much of himself as he could. Douglas, on the other hand, chose Fortune, the pursuit of money being the only aspiration possible for such a serious Sim.

“Well, I have to go to work. You know you have to get a job too, right?”

Doris and Donato looked shocked.

“You need it for the scholarships, losers. Later.”

Photobucket

When he returned later, Douglas was an overachiever. He already had all his necessary scholarships, he was going to go to college that very night.

Photobucket

Speaking of that very night, Charity and Othello shared a birthday with their two youngest children. (Due to some errors, pictures of Dorothy and Dorrigan as toddlers were lost. OOPS.)

Charity and Othello were elders, finally. They had raised ten children, (some of them good, some of them handfuls, but all wonderful) and were content to wait for them to graduate college.

“We did it my love.”

“I know. I feel like I spent most of my life pregnant for some reason though.”

Othello chuckled.

Photobucket

Dorothy was one of the handfuls. Mean-spirited and serious, she frequently picked on her younger, weaker willed brother. Being ninth out of ten can do that to a kid.

Photobucket

Dorrigan, on the other hand, was extremely quiet, yet seemed to be eternally angry. He muttered under his breath about never being noticed, but Dorothy usually told him to shut up and listen.

They were as close as two never noticed children could be.

Photobucket

Speaking of never noticed children, Xerxes was haunting that very night. He cheered over his old bed, the only possession he considered to be his.

Photobucket

“BWA! Children sleeping in my room should beware!”

Dorrigan was so frightened, yet he never told anyone about his terrifying experience.

Photobucket

Speaking of frightening experiences, the next day, Doris and Donato were trying to do their homework. Neither of them was used to doing much of anything, so they were using all of their teen years to do the work they never wanted to do as children.

“What’s the point of doing homework? In college there are always people to do it for you!”

Donato readily agreed. “I’ll seduce them. And then get them to do my work! Its brilliant!”

Doris just rolled her eyes.

Photobucket

Later that day, Donato finally made it to the top of his career, a jog he never wanted in the first place.

“Now can I quit? I don’t want to work!”

Whiners.

Photobucket

Doris also got promoted, she was much more resigned about it.

“Since I’m at the top, it just means I work less, and make more money! Its brilliant!”

Photobucket

It also gave her time to do what she wanted to do: play pool.

Photobucket

Donato joined her sometimes as well.

“So, when are we leaving?”

“Later.”

Photobucket

Meanwhile, Cressida was forced to fix the Lie Detector machine, that had been out of use since Dorian’s extreme lying skillz broke it.

Photobucket

In the Heir’s Bedroom, Charity and Othello cuddled before sleeping, talk of their children like they did every night.

“So, here we are. Have you given any thought to who should be heir?”

“Yes, I thought we agreed on Dorian.” Charity had chosen her eldest biological child, seeing as how he was level headed, responsible, and a Knowledge Sim.

“But how will the other kids feel about that?” Othello was always extremely protective of the other children’s feelings, he sometimes thought Charity only cared about protecting the family at the expense of her other kids’ mental well being.

“They’ll handle it fine. Don’t worry…”

They cuddled and went to sleep, unbeknownst to them, they did indeed have reason to worry.

Photobucket

The next morning, Dorothy had cornered her younger brother, as usual.

“Guess what, Dorrigan!”

“What…”

Dorrigan braced himself for the teasing, as it was sure to come.

Photobucket

“Well, besides the fact that you’re a loser! Not much! HAHAHA!”

Dorrigan, for once, let his anger bubble over.

Photobucket

“Don’t you talk to me that way Dorothy Ann Crane! You think you can do whatever you want but you’re wrong! You’re just as much of a nobody in this family as I am!”

Dorothy just smiled. She always enjoyed when Dorrigan fought back, it secretly made her feel better for teasing him, knowing that he could stand up for himself.

Photobucket

“Here, let me tell you the secret.”

Photobucket

Dorrigan leaned in, expecting to hear a life-changing secret.

“Mom said that I would be the heir!”

Photobucket

Photobucket

Dorrigan leaned away from his sister, and began to laugh.

“Yea ok, Dorothy. We both know that Dorian the golden child is heir. Plus, you’re not even a teen! Please.”

Dorrigan laughed again, and walked away from his sister.

Photobucket

Dorothy watched her brother walk away. He thought he was funny, for sure.

“Just wait, Dorrigan. Watch me end up heir, and then we’ll see whose funny…”

A reason to worry for sure.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This chapter seems a bit more coherent than the others, thats because the new!Plot! is finally beginning to shape up. Obviously these kids have some issues, I wanted to highlight that fact. I may not be the most amazing writer ever, but I did want to show that the kids do all have their own personalities, and different dreams, goals, issues, etc.

Its extremely ironic that they are mostly all clones of one another.

Dorian and Donovan are the only unique kids: they have wild personalities compared to their siblings, Dorian has 10-9-5-2-8, Donovan has 6-10-6-6-3. I didn't make Donovan heir because of his aspiration, and I don't like all those sixes, I prefer extremes.

Douglas is a visual clone of Dorian, except with darker skin. He also has the Cheekbones. He got 3-9-6-0-7.

Doris and Donato have kind of sucky personalities. Donato is a clone of Douglas, except without the cheekbones, he is purely Face One. He got the exact same personality. Doris got the sukiest one of all, 3-6-6-6-7. Ew.

Dorothy and Dorrigan are reverse clones of Doris and Donato: Dorothy is a clone of Donato, everything the same, and Dorrigan is a clone of Doris, with the same everything as well.

All of the kids got Brown Eyes.

Oh, and some cousins made it into the update! Yay! I plan to do Spare Stories once I am mostly caught up, so you guys can know what happened to some of the other Sims in Kodak, like Xavier and Charissa's families.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was plenty of Vamping going on as well:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Douglas was already friends with Sage, Charity influenced her to bite him. Here's the sucky part though, Doris and Donato hadn't finished their scholarships yet. I had to wait till they got promoted, and I was pissed. I had to build Doug a chamber so that he wouldn't die in the middle of the day, he kept getting out of his coffin.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

He eventually bit her though.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

And she then bit Donato.

Points make me happy. That's all for now folks, thanks so much for reading! :D

Dorian got paired up with a prof?! I'd ask for my money back, then again...it could be an easy A :)

I love that the mailman is depressed and regrets not attending college, I usually ignore them but that's too funny.

Doris and Donato have serious 'tude! She even got smart with Cress lol

I really like Dorothy and Dorrigan's (the 2 ignored children lol) hairstyles and I love that they fight and tease. Dorothy expects to be the heir?! Oh, that is going to cause issues :D

With all the biting going on, I need a list of who's what kind of creature around here lol

Dorian did indeed get paried with a porofessor. It's irny that almost all of the biological kids ended up with professors.

The mailman will be important soon (snicker cough HINT) so I wanted to show it.

Yes, I wanted to show that not all Legacy children are well mannered, and I wanted them to have distinct personalities. It worked that Doris was always whining about something. :D

Yea, I do too. I srtuggled to find a good hairstyle for Dorothy, it took me MANY MANY months, but I eventually did it.

And yes, Dorothy DEMANDS to be heir.

Not to worry, All of the kids are cured in college and it never makes it into actual updates, so no worries there. :D
